Jailbreak All Devices for 3.1.2 (Mac & PC)

Blackra1n Jailbreak!

This Jailbreak is for:

• iPhone 2G (Original iPhone)
• iPhone 3G
• iPhone 3GS (Might be tethered, see warning below)
• iPod Touch 1G
• iPod Touch 2G (Might be tethered, see warning below)
• iPod Touch 3G (Tethered, see warning below)

WARNING: Currently this jailbreak is a Tethered Version for the iPod 3G and New Versions of the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 2G bought after the date of October 15, 2009. This is will require you to run the blackra1n Application each time you boot. All you have to do is click “make it ra1n” and you will be fine!

Step 1:

Download the Jailbreak from the Blackra1n website depending on your Operating System! [Link]

You will also need your device updated to the latest 3.1.2! (Go to iTunes to update it, or view our Firmware Page [Downloads>Firmwares])

Step 2.

Have your Device plugged into your computer via the USB cable. Open The Blackra1n.exe file which you downloaded earlier. You will see something a window that has only one button that says “Make it ra1n.”

Step 3.

With your Device plugged in and on, click “Make it Ra1n” on the balckra1n program. Make sure your computer has iTunes installed so that your computer can recognize your Device. Your device will have a pin-wheel and then shut off. IT will then go into restore mode showing the USB to iTunes. If you get a message prompt from iTunes, just close it.

Step 4.

The jailbreak will be running if you see GeoHot (An image of him) within some “blackra1n” around him. Once that is done, your device will reboot and go to the lockscreen. If it gets stuck, do not touch it. IF it takes more than 10 minutes, hold the Home and Power button to reboot.

Step 5.

You will not have Cydia yet (Or Rock or Icy). Find the App on one of your home screens labled blackra1n. (Will look like a black rain drop)

Step 6.

Select what installer you want. You will have the choice of Rock or Cydia. For Newbs, I would use Cydia.

Step 7.

It will then install the packages you selected! Make sure to be connect to WiFi for installing these installer clients.

Step 8.

You are now Jailbroken! Yipeee!

Now that your Jailbroken, and want to use a other carrier than your required carrier, continue on to this guide to unlock your device.

TROUBLE SHOOTS

(MAC/PC) This jailbreak does have bugs like any other software would. If you get a black screen, and does nothing, all you have to do to reboot is hold the home and power button for 20 seconds and works every time.

(PC) IF you are having trouble jailbreaking, first, try dragging your Blackra1n .exe file into your C drive. And To run it, right click and select run as. Run as your user name and password. You need to be an admin on your computer.

(PC) IF that still does not fix it, open your task manager (Right Click on your mouse and select Task manager and close any programs that are related to iTunes other than AppleMobileDeviceService.exe. You will need that process for your computer to recognize it.
