No! Unless you have to (really?). The 3.1.3 update only covered a couple of bugs that were very MINOR. Apple’s main objective was to throw off the blackra1n/redsn0w/sn0wbreeze jailbreaks off. Apple accomplished just that!
Updating to the 3.1.3 is fine if you do not care about jailbreaking, but keep in mind iPhone 3Gs users that 3.1.3 and iPod Touch 2G/3G (MC and PC Models) Jailbreaks are not yet out. If you bought an iPod Touch or iPhone recently (After the Date of Oct. 15, 2009), make sure to check your Model Number on your Device to see if it comply with jailbreaks. Currently there is not Jailbreak(s) for these Models:
- MC Models
- Models Beginning with “P”
To check if you have one of those models, go into the settings Application > Touch General > About and your Model will be listed there.
If you have a MA or MB model iPhone or iPod Touch, downgrade in iTunes and Jailbreak with a 3.1.2 Jailbreak like blackra1n or redsn0w.
For people who have been asking about a 3.1.3 Jailbreak for the iPhone 3Gs and iPod Touch 2G/3G (Non MA/MB Models): I believe that the Dev Team is holding out for the iPhone OS 4.0 for a jailbreak. So just hang tight!
Sidenote: The Forum is down and we are aware of this. It is down due to updates. Thanks!
