Apple Redesigns The App Store

Wow, Apple just completely revamped the App Store app profiles, it’s quite unexpected but definitely welcome.

The main thing I think Apple was going for in this new redesign is to be more graphical. App icons are bigger and screenshots are more prominent. And if you have the Multi-Touch trackpad/mouse you can swipe through all the screenshots, similar to the iPhone (Mobile App Store).

Also now the description of the app is almost entirely out of view and there is an emphasis on the what’s new in the latest version of the app.

One other small thing is that there are more user reviews displayed.

There are still app profiles that have not been updated yet but expect that to change soon. Do you like the new interface?

Apple Releases iTunes 9.0.2

You better go to Software update because Apple has released today iTunes 9.0.2. This update is pretty scarce of new features. But one feature in the update is being able to change the grid background to a dark grey color. The last feature that came in the update is breaking the ability to sync the Palm Pre with it (Again).

“iTunes 9.0.2 adds support for Apple TV software version 3.0, adds an option for a dark background for Grid View, and improves support for accessibility.”

So if you have a Palm Pre don’t update and if you have an Apple TV do update. Also, Apple has updated the Remote App for the iPhone for better compatibility with iTunes 9.0.2.

Put iPhone/iPod Touch into Recovery Mode

Recovery Mode can be good if your iPod/iPhone has been jailbreaked or your iPhone OS is giving you problems.

Putting it into recovery mode is very easy!

  1. Have iTunes open (have the latest iTunes)
  2. Plug the USB cable into your Mac/PC with your iPhone Connected
  3. Shut your Device off
  4. Hold the HOME BUTTON and the POWER BUTTON for 10 Seconds
  5. Then after the 10 seconds, realease the POWER BUTTON, but keep holding the HOME BUTTON!
  6. The device should turn on with the Connect to iTunes Symbol
  7. You will receive a pop up message in iTunes saying that your iPhone/iPod Touch is in recovery mode.
  8. Restore your device and it will be as good as new.

Now restore your Device!
