New Hand Gestures for iPad found in SDK Beta 4

With the recent realease of the Developer beta 4 version of the iPhone 3.2 SDK, 9to5 Mac decided to look into the SDK and find any recent changes.

On the surface, the latest iPhone 3.2 Beta 4 SDK didn’t have much new information.  Diving a little deeper however, we find some very exciting news.

In the gestures folder, you’ll see two new types of commands (3Tap.plist and LongPress.plist) that are certainly not implemented in the current 3.1 iPhone SDK.

Apple has some new features that were not mentioned, but not quite what we all have in mind. Is there More? We will have to see!

iPad will not be tethering either….

With the upcoming iPad date soon approaching, there has been a huge question on everyone’s mind….Tethering… Back in January, Steve told that the Apple iPad will be sold in two versions. One will be almost like a netbook where it can connect to Mobile Carrier network for a monthly fee and a Wi-Fi only version.

Many have wondered if they will be able to tether their Wi-Fi iPad with their iPhone. Well, Steve Personally answered this one with one syllable:

Would you get the iPad if it gets a camera? Post your Comment!

iPad shown off at Apple Event with Camera?

As with the iPod 3rd Generations, the rumors are starting that the iPad will include an iSight camera on the top of the iPad Frame. Mission Repair got some parts, as they called it, “unofficial channels” and dissembled the device and found a opening that would fit an isight camera similar to Apple’s MacBook. In the image to the right. Steve Jobs, Apple Co-Founder and CEO, is showing off the iPad and on the top shows the outline of an iSight Camera. Apple was hiding things at the Apple Event last week for many reasons, but hiding this?

WE Saw the iPad. Or didn’t we?

The Are now rumors spreading across the web saying that the iPad features shown and on display may have been hiding the iPhone OS 4.0 at the Apple Event this past week. People are also commenting  that the iPhone Operating System running on the iPad looked “unfinished, nothing new, boring.”

Boy Genius is speculating that the iPad OS (Supposed iPhone OS 3.2) really more features than actually shown…

…Apple said “late March” for the non-3G unit to be available and that’s curiously right when Apple usually holds its iPhone/iPod OS SDK events and where we’d most likely see iPhone OS 4.0 appear. Is it possible this is just to get the ball moving and Apple has some bigger stuff up its sleeve already? Multitasking, redone notifications, and a whole lot more, coming to both the iPhone platform as well as the iPad? Now, why release an SDK based on iPhone OS 3.2 and have devs code for that and then have to redo it, you might be asking, but iPhone 4.0, if it was announced in March would probably be a beta and not released to the public until June/July. That would give developers time to redo any applications for full 4.0 compatibility. Plus, the general public would get iPhone OS 3.2 while developers concurrently used iPhone OS 4.0 and developed for both that and the iPad. Maybe just wishful thinking, but heck, it would make sense.

It makes sense and we all know how secret Apple is with their products.

iPhone 4.0 Rumor!

BoyGeniusReport (BGR) has received some very important in site on what we might be seeing at Apple’s Event later this month. Rumors have it the the iTablet, iSlate, iPad, or whatever you want to call it are to be shown there. Here is what BGR mentioned on what to see in the iPhone OS (Operating System) 4.0…

  • There will be multi-touch gestures OS-wide. (Would make sense for that as the rumored OS for the iTablet is close if not the same as the iPhone)
  • “A few new ways” to run applications in the background — multitasking.
  • Many graphical and UI changes to make navigating through the OS easier and more efficient. We haven’t had this broken down, but we can only hope for improved notifications, a refreshed homescreen, etc.
  • The update will supposedly be available for only the iPhone 3G and 3GS, but will “put them ahead in the smartphone market because it will make them more like full-fledged computers” more than any other phone to date. Everyone is “really excited.”
  • The last piece of information is the most vague, but apparently there will be some brand new syncing ability for the contacts and calendar applications.

Knowing Apple, this can not be all they have planned just for the iPhone OS 4.0, but is still a good solid rumor one week before the Event. (January 27, 2010). We will keep you posted as more rumors pour out before the event.
