iTablet – Is It Still On The Way?

As you know, the iPad was recently released from Apple. As of the moment, I am calling this the “iPod touch” of the iTablet. We all have been hearing tons and tons of things, about Apple confirming the name of their new product, to be the iTablet. But instead, all we got was a enlarged iPhone.

The iTablet was going to be the next big thing from Apple. It was going to be pretty much a Mac computer, for on-the-go people. So is the iTablet still on the way? It is not confirmed, but we are pretty sure it is still coming.

Why do we think this? Because the name iTablet is a registered name to Apple Inc. Apple actually bought the rights, to have the name iTablet for one of their upcoming products. Apple is not just going to buy the name for a product, and then release a product not even close to the name, for no reason.

I think Apple just released the iPad, to hold us over until the iTablet is complete.

Haha, it seems like after begging for one the entire week, Stephen Colbert just saw his dreams come true.

Tonight at the Grammys, instead of pulling out the “Song of the Year.” envelope, he pulled out and read the winner’s name off a shiny Apple iPad.

iPhone 3GS Comes in behind Moto Droid in Time Magazine…

Yes, sadly, but the iPhone was ranked #4 in Time magazine of the best things of 2009. The iPhone also was behind the Barnes & Noble Nook e-reader, and the Dyson Air Multiplier, and of course, the Droid. So why did Time magazine rank the iPhone this way, well…

A smartphone operating system isn’t all that satisfying without an actual kick-ass smartphone wrapped around it. Now Android has one: The Droid is a hefty beast, a metal behemoth without the gloss and finish of the iPhone, but you don’t miss it. The Droid’s touchscreen is phenomenally sharp and vivid, it has an actual physical (not great, but good enough) keyboard, and best of all, the Droid is on Verizon’s best-of-breed 3G network. It’s Android’s first credible challenge to the iPhone.

AT&T’s network is holding back sales on the iPhone as well as AT&T’s coverage compared to the Verizon Network. It has been two months though since the 3.1.2 OS realease, what is Apple planing?  Honestly, I do believe the Android is a great phone, but is has a lot more to go through til it hits the iPhone standards.

Apple Rejecting Intel Morrestown?

Rumors are circulating that Apple has rejected Intel’s Moorestown chips as unsuitable for their mobile device range, after Cupertino engineers decided that the Intel CPUs demanded far too much power.  According to Fudzilla, Apple have informed Intel that Moorestown needs to have one-tenth the idle power consumption it manages currently before it’ll be suitable for any of Apple’s devices.

The rejection will come as a blow for Intel, whose Atom range has been a mainstay of PC netbooks over the past eighteen months.  A win with Apple for mobile or lower-power devices would have opened up a whole new market; Intel have previously suggested that Moorestown would be ideal for high-end smartphones.

Moorestown is also expected to find a place in MIDs, and it’s feasible that Intel might have been hoping to see the platform inside Apple’s much-rumored tablet.  Instead, it’s likely that any mobile device from Apple in the near future will use a PA Semiconductor chip, the handiwork of a company Apple themselves own.
