10% of Microsoft Employees hiding their iPhone?

Some and Most of us have heard the rumors of the iPhone crushing and destroying from Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer. Well, according to the Wall Street Journal, 10% of Microsoft’s employees are using an iPhone…

Nearly 10,000 iPhone users were accessing the Microsoft employee email system last year, say two people who heard the estimates from senior Microsoft executives. That figure equals about 10% of the company’s global work force.

Well, if Balmer wants beat the iPhone, well, first lets start with the employees. Do any of you remember Ballmer’s thought on when the iPhone was released?

iPhone Multitasking Coming this Summer?

According to Apple Insider, they claim that they will see Multitasking on the iPhone (and maybe the iPad) by this Summer.

Apple this summer will go a long way towards silencing critics and catering to one of the most prevalent demands of its iPhone user base, when it introduces a multitasking solution through the handset’s 4.0 software update that will finally allow several third party apps to run concurrently and in the background.

Apple has been avoiding this for some time due to the iPhone stability. Currently, Jailbroken iPhones has access to this Application/Modification called Backgrounder which allows the running of multiple applications.

Lets wait and see!

Apple Online Store Down…

Well, Currently the US Apple Store is down which could mean they are getting ready for iPad Pre Orders which will happen around 8 AM EST today.

iPad Pre-Orders Tomorrow at 5:30 AM PST

TUAW has confimed that the iPad Pre-Orders will start Tomorrow around 5:30 AM PST. If you are having trouble converting that into your own Time zone, click Here. Apple stated that Customers can go to Apple.com and order pre-orders of the iPad.

New Hand Gestures for iPad found in SDK Beta 4

With the recent realease of the Developer beta 4 version of the iPhone 3.2 SDK, 9to5 Mac decided to look into the SDK and find any recent changes.

On the surface, the latest iPhone 3.2 Beta 4 SDK didn’t have much new information. Diving a little deeper however, we find some very exciting news.

In the gestures folder, you’ll see two new types of commands (3Tap.plist and LongPress.plist) that are certainly not implemented in the current 3.1 iPhone SDK.

Apple has some new features that were not mentioned, but not quite what we all have in mind. Is there More? We will have to see!

iPad will not be tethering either….

With the upcoming iPad date soon approaching, there has been a huge question on everyone’s mind….Tethering… Back in January, Steve told that the Apple iPad will be sold in two versions. One will be almost like a netbook where it can connect to Mobile Carrier network for a monthly fee and a Wi-Fi only version.

Many have wondered if they will be able to tether their Wi-Fi iPad with their iPhone. Well, Steve Personally answered this one with one syllable:

No.

The Man Who was sending this question, Jezper Söderlund, to Apple reportedly said:

I’m Jezper from Sweden, a long time Apple fan, currently about to replace the very last computer at home with a brand spanking new iMac i7. I’m also awaiting the release of the iPad. However, I have one question:

Will the Wi-Fi-only version somehow support tethering thru my iPhone?

Two devices, based on the same OS, with already built-in technology to share one data plan suggests a secondary contract could possibly be redundant.

From the look of your keynote, where the iPad sits well between my MacBook Pro and my iPhone, I was hoping the three of them could interact as seamless as possible.

Well it looks like tethering will not be coming from Apple, but maybe the Jailbreakers? Let’s Hope so!

Cydia gets an update!

The Maker Cydia, Jay Freeman has just released an update to the Cydia APT that should satisfy the long wait and loading times. Cache Generator has also been optimized so that Cydia doesn’t take forever to reload. This new update claims to drop the loading times from 22 seconds to just 2.2 seconds (tested on iPhone 3GS).

To update, open Cydia and you should get a prompt asking you to update. Touch “Upgrade Essential” and you should be good to go!

Hopefully now Cydia can start to compete with the fast, but a little unstable, Rock Installer.
